In addition to a new CD recording, the SDG Brass Band will further host its 5th Annual Festival.  The Festival will be held at the Chapel of the Betel Romanian Baptist Church (330 W. Touhy Avenue, Park Ridge, Illinois 60068) on the morning of Sunday – October 4, 2015.  The Festival will be the culmination of four rehearsals held on each preceding Saturday, starting with September 12, 2015, with planned participants from throughout United States and Canada.  Looking forward, and at the request of our many Detroit friends, we note in passing that the 6th Annual Festival of 2016 is presently planned to be held in/near Detroit, Michigan.

One of our distinguished guest directors this year is Mr. Bill Himes. Mr. Himes, an internationally well-known composer, lecturer, and clinician, has been the Music Director of the Salvation Army’s Central Territory since 1977, and has also been the Conductor of the Chicago Staff Band.  Another one of our distinguished guest directors is Doru Chifan.  Currently residing in Phoenix, Arizona, Doru is a great friend and supporter of the SDG Brass Band, and will make his third appearance at an SDG Festival.  Last, but not least, our own Remus Moroșan will be conducting, teaching, and preparing the players for the Festival.

In addition to and consistent with other SDG goals, we wish that the outcome of the Festival is one of hope and encouragement for players and listeners, alike.  More specifically, “hope” and “encouragement” that Christ is Alive and that we are living looking forward to a better place!
